The Deputy Secretary of the Central Committee of the New Communist Party of Aotearoa leaves early tomorrow morning on the first overseas visit of the New Communist Party of Aotearoa to attend meetings of friendly causes in Australia and Cuba.
He will visit Sydney, Australia to attend the 99th Anniversary celebrations of the Communist Party of Australia and meet with the Central Committee of the CP of Australia during their plenary meeting.
The CP of Australia was founded in 1920 by the merger of several different socialist groups with the support of the then-new Communist International and in the near-century since has consistently been the closest friend of the New Zealand communist movement.
After visiting Australia, he will travel to Havana, Cuba to take part in the ‘Anti-Imperialist Conference of Solidarity for Democracy and against Neoliberalism’. This is the latest step in what has become a firm relationship of solidarity and friendship between the NCPA and Cuba. The Deputy Secretary will also meet with the next Ambassador of Cuba to New Zealand while there.
The New Communist Party of Aotearoa is a staunchly proletarian internationalist Party and takes solidarity and cooperation with global friends and comrades seriously. We look forwards to hosting a reciprocal delegation of the Communist Party of Australia as well as several other international delegations, including from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences later in November for our First National Congress.
